Dr. Michael Civin

When Dr. Michael Civin began his education and career in the late 1960s, he didn’t have a planned course for his future job. However, after attending college again in the 1980s, his path grew more clear toward work as a psychologist.

A Harvard graduate in his youth with an A.B. degree, Dr. Michael Civin began medical school thereafter, where he remained for only one year before transferring to the University of Oregon for a Masters of Arts degree. He accomplished that in 1970, not attending school again for more than a decade. But in 1986, he completed another M.A. from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Services at Adelphi University before moving onto his Ph.D. at the same school, earning that in 1988. From there, Civin moved into a long-held career in psychology, serving as professor and faculty member to teach others in the field in addition to publishing scholarly articles.
